XTRA 1: Merged Image

Baroque Flower  Baroque Flower is a merge between a sunflower and baroque spoons. In place of the sunflower petals I drew a variety of baroque spoons - using the bowl of the spoons for petals and the intricate designs of the neck to create the center. When originally deciding what to do I came up with the idea of using the bowls of the spoons as flower petals after I noticed that a lot of the spoons already had shapes that resembled petals and leaves. I appreciated that even though all of the spoons were baroque style each spoon still had it's own individuality to it and I wanted that to still be noticeable within the drawing.  Reference Images Sources  https://images.replacements.com/images/images2/flatware/W/P0000110566S0383T2.jpg https://images.replacements.com/images/images2/flatware/W/P0000110566S0399T2.jpg https://cdn0.rubylane.com/shops/694606/f98.1L.jpg https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/41B58VGC4HL.jpg https://st

BP2: Raul Cuero's interview

I found the actual progression of the interview to be extremely dull. There were certain answers/ stories I would have been more interested in hearing Cuero elaborate further on rather than having him continue on with answering this set list of questions. But regardless of that after hearing Raul Cuero talk about himself I do think that he is a pretty amazing and inspiring person. Two quotes from the interview that I found really interesting were from his response to whether or not he thought children born into luxury were at a creative disadvantage. Cuero said that, "creativity had to do with how you perceive nature in relation with you existence",as well as that,"ideas emerge from interactions with other ideas". While I do agree with these statements to an extent I do not agree with Cuero one hundred percent. When talking about ideas emerging from other ideas Cuero implies that this can only happen through direct communication with other individuals, and once again

BP1

My name is Ivette, and if you're wondering how that is supposed to be pronounced the answer is nobody knows. I'm Puerto Rican, the youngest of five and the only one out of my siblings not born on the island. I was born and raised in Rhode Island, but my family moved to Florida a few years back. I'm currently a junior and majoring in animation, which is something I've always been really passionate about. I was a terrible person to watch cartoons with as a child as a result of this though. I'm taking the class as part of my degree requirement but a lot of the topics that we will be focusing on in class are topics that I'm already interested in which I thought was cool. I have a bit of an obsession with broadway musicals like Dear Evan Hansen and Hamilton, mostly because of the music/ songs. My expectations for the class are to learn more about art and technology, specifically learning more about how the two subjects operate in relation to one another. I'm
